NORMAL-With the school year coming to an end, the eighth graders are finding out where they will be attending high school for the 2012-13 school year. We went around taking a poll of where each student will be going. 21 are going to Central Catholic, 4 are going to Normal Community, 3 are going to U-High, 1 is going to Normal West, 2 are going to Bloomington, 1 is going to Olympia, and the last 2 are undecided. Everyone is very excited to graduate and start fresh at a new place with a new environment.

We asked some eighth graders what their favorite memories from Epiphany are.

Hailey P.: “I’ve had so much fun these last few months getting to know Faith. Sami, her, and I have had some really good times together! We could easily say that our favorite was dressing up as the Teletubbie ‘Po’ for the Halloween parade.”

Will H.: “We were in Mrs. Brown’s class in 7^th grade drawing pictures of setting for literature. Mine was extremely detailed and I thought it was pretty good-I got a B+. Charlie presented his picture next. It was a road (I think) and some grey blocks. Mrs. Brown was so impressed that she hung it up outside the classroom and gave him and A+. Charlie was so proud.”

Sarah M.: “I loved everything about 3^rd grade. I had Mrs. Hanley as a teacher and she was hilarious. I remember cracking up when she told us the story where she ripped her skirt (almost in half) at the grocery store! We were all so cute then, too!”

Jake S.: “In 6^th grade, Cody was chewing on a pen cap…and accidentally swallowed it. I was laughing so hard. Mr. Coffey made him go to Mr. Morehouse, who made him call his mom to take him to the doctor! I guess it’s a lesson…don’t eat pen caps.”

Caroline P.: “I can’t even name a single memory. I’ve had so many-from school dances, to cookouts with my friends, to Spirit Days, and not to mention every embarrassing moment I’ve had!”

The class of 2012 has become really close over the past 9-10 years. Erin H. says “Spend time with your friends and get to know everyone. I love so many kids in my class and we all get along really well!” We’ve had such great times-from parties, to sleepovers, to secrets, to relationships, to bonfires and all types of sports events. Although we will be split up and be apart next year, we will always be friends forever!
